Academic Workshop between the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of Göttingen
Call for Applications 2025/26
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of Göttingen are calling for applications for funding for the implementation of an academic workshop in Göttingen or Jerusalem in the academic year 2025/26.The following funds are available:
(a) the hosting university can cover all accommodation costs for members of staff from sending university, as well as the costs for the workshop for up to 5.000 Euro;
(b) the sending university can cover travel costs for the workshop participants for up to 5.000 Euro.
This call is directed at academic tenured faculty members from all faculties of the University of Göttingen and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The participants should, hence, consist of junior as well as senior scientists.
Expected Outcomes
To measure the success of the project, the following outcomes are expected and should be detailed in the proposal workplan.
- Submission of a proposal for further external funding towards the end of the project
- Joint publications
- Jointly supervised students
Submission
Please submit an informal application prepared jointly by both research teams involved in Göttingen and Jerusalem containing the following information:
- Topic of the workshop
- Target group of participants from Göttingen and Israel
- Planned dates for the workshop
- Expected goals and results of the workshop
- Perspectives for follow up activities (see “Expected outcomes” above)
- Budget plan
Applications must be sent to the international offices of both universities simultaneously in electronic form by August 4th, 2025.
Results will be communicated in September 2025 and the workshops should take place within the academic year 2025/26.
Proposals should be no more than three pages.
Reporting
All awardees must, as a condition of receiving an award under this call, complete a narrative report of achievements (1-2 pages), and describe how they intend to take the research forward beyond the funding period, in accordance with the workplan and expected outcomes of the workshop. This should be completed within 3 months of completion of the project.
Remark
Please be aware that the Göttingen International Office and International Office of Hebrew University Jerusalem cannot provide any organizational support in advance or for the duration of the workshop.
