Stud.IP at our University
Stud.IP is the central component of the e-learning infrastructure at the University of Göttingen for teachers and students.
Access to content and numerous supporting tools for teaching and learning is provided via Stud.IP.

Use of Stud.IP
There are many possibilities for using Stud.IP.
A wide range of processes is supported that allow teachers and students to
organize themselves, communicate, and work together on gaining knowledge. Stud.IP is open to everyone at the University of Göttingen.
Detailed information about using Stud.IP is available via the listed websites and documents in the menu on the right.
Below we would like to briefly introduce you to the three functions you will definitely need to inform your students and give a note about data transfer from EXA.
You unlock the course in the course management under “Access permissions.” Set the green arrow to “none” to unlock the course. Alternatively, you can also configure registration procedures.
We have created a short video for you on this. (Video in German, Video in English)
An illustrated guide can be found here: Stud.IP help for unlocking
Please note:
- If the course remains locked, students cannot register. Not even if you set a start date for registrations.
- Please also unlock courses that are not offered at the beginning of the semester. This way, you can inform the registered interested students directly during the semester. Both at the beginning about the cancellation of the course and later in the semester if the course can start late after all.

As the most important communication medium, we recommend sending notifications via Stud.IP to the participants of the course about all changes to dates, web conference rooms, etc. (see above).
It would be desirable if the data in the course catalog in UniVZ were also kept up to date. However, in the current situation, this will not be possible immediately in all cases.
Therefore, the student representatives have requested that you inform your students about all deviations and changes to the course description, dates, and locations (e.g., the virtual conference room) via the above-described ways in Stud.IP.
Here you find pages with further information for your start in Stud.IP.
With these possibilities, communication with the students should succeed. If you still encounter problems, you can contact your local administrators or our central support at support@uni-goettingen.de.
