„Humans are not ideally set up to understand logic; they are ideally set up to understand stories“, cognitive scientist Roger Schank once said. Even more: We remind stories better than information. The workshop „Storytelling in Lectures“ shows how we can use this knowledge in lectures. You learn not only to tell stories for a better learning experience, but you will use the possibilities of storytelling and story structures to plan and realize your lessons and lectures in a way, that make your lectures more engaging and easier to follow and remember.
Learning objectives:
Participants will be able to
- use stories in their lectures as opener, cliffhanger, relief;
- use stories as a way to keep important informations remembered by students;
