The Digital Learning and Teaching Team offers trainings & events (online and in-person), partly in close cooperation with the Higher Education Didactics.

The Online Teaching Dialogue (OTD) is a recurring event series that regularly addresses current topics related to teaching and learning (in online settings). Practical tips and tricks for teaching are discussed, and participants can exchange experiences. Further information and registration can be found here.

The subproject “AI in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment” is a collaborative initiative of all public universities in Lower Saxony. Instructors are empowered to develop AI competencies and to use AI in a reflective and responsible manner. The previous event series “AI in Teaching, Learning, and Assessment” will continue in the winter semester 2025/26 under the name “AI.compact for Instructors in Lower Saxony.” Topics include ethical aspects of generative AI, good practice examples for using AI in teaching, and AI in curriculum development. Each session provides input (approx. 30–40 minutes) followed by time for discussion with the presenters and among participants.

In this workshop, we provide an overview and introduce useful AI tools that can support you in your daily teaching routine. Learn how to use AI tools to quickly create presentations, teaching materials, discussion frameworks, quizzes, and handouts in multiple versions. Use Chat AI (Leuphana’s chatbot) to gather ideas for learning objectives and design synchronous learning phases. Note: Part of this workshop is specifically aimed at Leuphana members, focusing on integrating created materials into Moodle and other Leuphana digital tools.

In this workshop, you will get hands-on experience with AI tools that allow you to, for example, control chatbots via voice input, add audio to your own content, and create audio plays or podcasts. The creation of speech translations, as well as music and sound effects using AI tools, will also be demonstrated. After a compact overview (90 min), you can try selected tools in a guided practical session (30 min) and ask questions directly.
