Dr. Sophie-Dorothe Lieke
Sophie-Dorothe Lieke completed her Master’s Degree in Environmental Management at Lancaster University, UK, before joining the Research Training Group 2654 Sustainable Food Systems at the University of Göttingen. There, she completed her Ph.D. with a thesis titled "(Mis)Guiding Consumers to Sustainable Consumption: The Role of Information, Labels, and Claims." Following her doctoral studies, she began working as a postdoctoral researcher at ZERN (Zukunft Ernährung Niedersachsen). Her research focuses on understanding consumer behaviour in the context of sustainable consumption, with a particular interest in consumer communication, product labelling, and the role of various food groups, ranging from probiotic drinks such as kefir to plant-based, alternative and novel proteins, in fostering more healthy and sustainable diets.
